*In an effort to bring AFL in line with standard procedures in Alliance Française chapters around the world, we request that all students in adult classes be members of AFL. Since AFL students are indeed students, they will be able to purchase a membership at the student rate of $25 per year. Being a member has its benefits ― members receive the e-newsletter, the Quoi de Neuf, a review of AFL's current events and/or news of happenings in the neighborhood with a French and/or francophone connection, and other notices such as "Save the Date" announcements. In addition, members have access to special prices and discounts for events and also to "member-only" events. These membership requirements do not apply to children's classes, however, we do encourage that families join so that they will be able to enjoy all of AFL's privileges.

- Students will develop strategies to understand more complex conversational and/or reading structures and begin to use these in their own speech.
- The vocabulary topics and cultural themes will vary from session to session.
- The variety of topics will allow the student to increase their vocabulary while continuing to acquire fundamental grammatical structures necessary for successful communication.
Atelier d’été
Joyeux Anniversaire — This lesson will give you tips on how to be the perfect guest — What flowers to offer the hostess and how to compliment her food.
Qu’est-ce que vous faites…? How do Americans and the French spend their leisure time? Survey your class and then compare the results with a survey of French people. Any surprises?
Soyez précis! — Learn to go beyond the formalities of conversation and to give your opinion.

On peut toujours s’arranger! — They say that where there are 3 Frenchmen together, there will be 4 opinions! Learn how to be persuasive and how to agree to disagree.
Une journée bien remplie! — “Métro, boulot, dodo.” That describes the daily routine most of us experience. What vocabulary will you need to talk about your very busy day?
Atelier d’hiver
Un certain savoir-faire — This lesson will make you very “savvy’ — you’ll learn all those prepositions that indicate place, the silent language of gestures, the secrets of the three verbs “to know”.
Vouloir, c’est pouvoir. — “Where there’s a will, there’s a way”. Once again, you get to practice asking those important questions, understanding the answers and saying what you really think is important.
