Part-Time Office Manager (10-15 hours per week)



Requirements:
• High School Degree
• Knowledge of general PC use in addition to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, email, website & social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English
• Must be able to work 2 days Monday-Thursday and Saturday mornings (during our 3 ten-week sessions) and attend monthly board meetings (2nd Tuesday of the month except July & December)
• Must be able to work independently (without direction) and be able to multi-task
• Knowledge of second language acquisition/foreign language learning
• Must be a US citizen or if not, have a valid work permit to work legally in the US

Preferences:
• Some college or degree preferred
• Knowledge of French strongly preferred
• Management experience preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Answer phone, respond to voicemail messages and email messages
• Provide reports for and attend monthly board meetings
• Maintain inventory for office (textbooks, supplies, etc.)
• Keep track of membership and student enrollment payments and RSVPs for special events
• Make deposits at bank as needed (approximately weekly)
• Provide staff’s & teachers’ payroll to treasurer monthly
• Provide invoices and other pertinent paperwork to treasurer
• Promote events and classes via social media outlets and email marketing, as well as within office (white boards, voicemail greeting)
• Design marketing pictures and flyers for classes and events
• Create and/or update email lists as needed
• Update website as needed
• Prepare and send mass mailings for membership renewals, events, annual appeal, etc.
• Attend special events on weekends, in evenings or during daytime hours
• Arrange private lessons between students and teachers
• Advise students regarding placement into classes
• Distribute student surveys for each session
• Determine lineup of classes and teachers for each session
• Schedule interviews and hold orientation for any new teaching staff
• Host visitors and give presentation regarding AF de Louisville (preferably in French)

Private Lesson Instructors (6-10 hours per week)



The language school at AFL is seeking one or two experienced French language teachers (French mother tongue preferred or near-native French fluency) willing to teach private lessons to children, youth, and/or adults, as needed (daytime, evenings, and/or weekends.)

Applicants may also be asked to teach morning or evening classes starting in September. Position is part time, hourly and offers no benefits.

In our next edition of the AFL book club, we will be reading and discussing The Table Comes First: Family, France, and the Meaning of Food by Adam Gopnik.

This book is in English and we will be discussing it in English.

Still free to AFL members! A $5 donation is suggested for non-members.

You can purchase your copy online or from a nearby bookstore. We can also order a copy for you at the AFL office.

You can also check the Louisville Public Library. They have a few of physical copies of the book, as well as a free downloadable ebook version.
