She will bring regency pieces to show\, as well as patterns for those interested in making their own period wardrobe!  This is in preparation for the festivities of the Lafayette Bicentennial Celebration. The Regency clothing throughout the period was heavily influenced by French fashion. Her first international trip was to Paris and London for her 10th wedding anniversary. Her French ancestor arrived in America in 1700\, landing near Jamestown\, VA. The family name\, now commonly known as Chastain\, Chasteen\, or Chestnut\, was originally Chataigne\, meaning “chestnut.” \nShe has been a member of The American Friends of Lafayette for three years and serves as co-chair for the Lafayette Bicentennial in Louisville & Jeffersonville. Previously\, she worked as the marketing coordinator for Locust Grove and played a key role in planning the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial. \nBonny is the founder of the Jane Austen Society in Louisville and the Jane Austen Festival in Louisville\, which grew to become the largest Jane Austen event in North America. \nWith a long-standing passion for history\, food—holding a culinary degree—and historic fashion\, she is known in some circles as a Regency Fashionista. \nFor the Lafayette Bicentennial\, she will provide original fashion plates\, period attire she has made\, patterns\, and other resources to help guide participants in creating their own historical ensembles. She recently became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and joined the Rochambeau Chapter in Paris.
