Class discussions will be conducted in two formats: spontaneous exchanges on current topics and discussions of articles from Bien-dire magazine. Prerequisite: All A1 level courses or placement by instructor

    When: Tuesday, 6 - 8 p, April 14 - June 16, 2026 Prof: Jason Wade Location: AFL Office | 9505 Williamsburg Plaza, Suite 101 Required Materials:  Inspire B1 Book Set (Available Here) Course Description: The B1.1 course is geared toward learners who have completed 1-2 years of French and who have a solid foundation of basic vocabulary and grammar.  This course helps you strengthen your reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities through engaging communicative activities and practical, project-based learning, with more emphasis on communicating with native speakers in more complex situations. Prerequisite: All available A2 courses or placement by instructor.

    When : Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, April 15 - June 17, 2026 Prof : Joseph Mackenzie-Rollinson Location : Online via Zoom Required Materials: N/A Course Description: Aimed at upper-intermediate/advanced students in the French language (5+ years of study), this class is  designed to improve and/or maintain your fluency in French, as well as branching out into learning and using colloquialisms and more advanced expressions in order to build as close to a native level of fluency as possible. Class discussions will be based on two formats: spontaneous exchanges on topics brought up by students and material assigned in advance by the instructor. Such material may include magazine articles, headline news focusing on contemporary issues, short stories, movies, poems, and songs.
