Abstract:
Alex Miniard and Patrick Litanga will speak about their book project (The Road to Kilo), which seeks to highlight in poetry, short essays, and illustrations, the experiences of refugees and immigrants as they begin their lives in the US. This project is about how to confront the fragmentation of life in a foreign country. Anyone who has lived long enough must have encountered fragmentations of some sorts; perhaps the refugee and immigrant’s experience may tell us something about our own lives.
