    When : Tuesday, 10 am - 12 pm, April 14 - June 16, 2026 Prof : Linda Fenouil Location : Online via Zoom (link will be provided) Required Materials: Students are responsible for purchasing the following materials: Inspire B1 Book Set (Available Here) Course Description: Aimed at intermediate students in the French language (3-4 years of study), this class will continue developing all four linguistic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Study of vocabulary, grammar, and culture will still be fully integrated within the course and taught in context. Prerequisite: All A2 level courses or placement by instructor

    Join us on Saturday, April 26 from 3:00–4:30 PM, for a special Speaker Series event with USA TODAY bestselling author Kristy Cambron, who will discuss her 2025 historical novel The French Kitchen Set across dual timelines in World War II–era France and 1952 Paris, The French Kitchen weaves together a story of secrets, espionage, and resilience. The novel follows women whose lives intersect through wartime intelligence networks and a postwar cooking class led by the legendary Julia Child, revealing how the past continues to shape their futures. This engaging talk will offer readers and history lovers alike a behind-the-scenes look at Cambron’s research, writing process, and the real historical figures who inspired the story.

    Kristy Cambron Biography

    Kristy Cambron is a USA TODAY bestselling author who writes from the space where beauty, art, and history intersect. She's a Christy Award-winning author of historical fiction, including her internationally bestselling novels, The Butterfly and the Violin and The Paris Dressmaker, as well as nonfiction titles. Her work has been named to Cosmopolitan's Best Historical Fiction Novels, Publishers Weekly Religion and Spirituality TOP 10, Library Journal's Best Books, and has been featured at People Magazine, Once Upon a Book Club Box, Frolic, Book Club Girl, BookBub, and Country Woman Magazine. Her novels have been translated into eight languages. Kristy holds a degree in art history/research writing and spent fifteen years in education and leadership development for a Fortune 100 corporation where she partnered with such companies as the Disney Institute, IBM/Kenexa, and Gallup before stepping away to pursue storytelling.     When: Wednesday, 1:00p - 3:00p, April 15 - June 17 Prof: Véronique Strange Location: AFL Office | 9505 Williamsburg Plaza, Louisville, KY 40222 Level of French: B1+ Required Materials: TBD Course Description: Aimed at intermediate to advanced French students, this course will offer close readings of current news and affairs surrounding the Francophone world as well as select literature readings. All readings will be in French and selected based on contemporary topics. This course will aim to improve vocabulary, reading, and listening comprehension, and inform students of current events in French news. Prerequisite: All available A2 courses or placement by instructor.

They will learn basic greetings, counting at least to three, and vocabulary for animals, family members, and more, through music, dance, crafts, play, and other age-appropriate activities.

They will continue their exposition to a new world of sounds and words which they will learn and retain through association and multi-sensory learning (music, dance, crafts, play, and other age-appropriate activities.)
