    Join the Alliance Française de Louisville for our Annual Dinner 2026! Celebrate an evening celebrating French language, Francophone culture, and the vibrant community that makes AFL special. Gather with fellow students, members, instructors, staff, and friends on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 PM at the beautiful House of Marigold for a memorable evening of connection, conversation, and celebration. Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared three-course dinner featuring seasonal ingredients, a choice of entrée, and an elegant dining experience surrounded by fellow lovers of French culture. The evening will also include a special presentation in both French and English, highlighting the impact and achievements of the Alliance Française de Louisville. A cash bar will be available, as well as the opportunity to participate in a raffle. Whether you’re a longtime member, a current student, a friend of AFL, or simply passionate about French language and culture, we invite you to join us for a night celebrating everything that makes our organization unique. Tickets: $90 per guest for members; $110 for non-members. Note: If purchasing multiple tickets, please email us at bonjour@aflouisville.org and provide the names of all attendees. This will allow us to prepare name tags ahead of time.

    When : Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, July 29 - August 30, 2026 Prof : Joseph Mackenzie-Rollinson Location : Online (link will be provided) Course Description: Aimed at upper-intermediate/advanced students in the French language (5+ years of study), this class is  designed to improve and/or maintain your fluency in French, as well as branching out into learning and using colloquialisms and more advanced expressions in order to build as close to a native level of fluency as possible. Class discussions will be based on two formats: spontaneous exchanges on topics brought up by students and material assigned in advance by the instructor. Such material may include magazine articles, headline news focusing on contemporary issues, short stories, movies, poems, and songs.
    Contact our office (bonjour@aflouisville.org or 502-420-0800) if you prefer to pay by check or cash. Please see our Enrollment and Withdrawal Policies prior to enrolling in a course. Multiple registrations? If you are registering multiple people for the same class, please email us (bonjour@aflouisville.org) to provide the name and email address for each student.
    • Each student must be a registered member with the AFL. Family memberships are accepted if all registrants live in the same household.

Join AFL Board Members Victoria Boggs and Megan Scott for the Alliance Française de Louisville's Fall Book Club! This fall, we'll be reading a series of engaging French readers by France Dubin, perfect for pre-intermediate (A2) learners looking to build confidence through authentic reading and lively discussion. Book Club will meet at The Wine Room on Frankfort Avenue. Participants are expected to purchase their own copies of each book and read the assigned title before each meeting so everyone can fully participate in the discussion. Participants are not required to attend each meeting, however it is encouraged.  Whether you're looking to improve your French, connect with fellow Francophiles, or simply enjoy a good story over a glass of wine, our Fall Book Club is a fun and welcoming way to practice your French in a relaxed setting. Book Club is free for Alliance Française de Louisville members, but space is limited. Sign up for one, two, or all three sessions today, to reserve your spot.
